TPT4KC This Week!

I've decided to do something a little different this week.  In addition to updates about our kids, I've included ways to connect with them!  They most all have FB pages that lead to update websites or websites.  All of them include ways to donate to the families (make sure you look at the FB page "info" section for these).  Several of them are running fundraisers this month, specifically.  I know so many of you have a heart to serve these children and have asked me for a way to do that - so here is a great step in that direction!

Also - September is childhood cancer awareness month.  I knew that childhood cancer is rare - only 12,000 kids a year are diagnosed (and out of the whole pediatric spectrum, that is a very small number).  However I didn't know that pediatric cancer receives the least amount of funding from the big cancer money raisers!  For instance, if you participate in a Relay-For-Life and you raise $1000, only $6 goes towards childhood cancer research.  Those are sobering numbers!

There are lots of organizations that are fighting this fight, including St. Judes', the Snowdrop Foundation and others.  There is also a new page on FB called "Red Carpet Kids for a Cure" that Lincoln's Daddy started.  It's aim is awareness, so if you are on FB, please "like" it and share it out!  It has stories (including Sophia's) of kids dealing with cancer.  If you know of a group that focuses on raising money for pediatric cancer research, please post the link in the comments (or have another update page for one of our kids to add, please email me!)

My prayer is always that The Lord would cure all cancer.  It pains me everytime I meet someone - adult or child - who is battling this disease.  It pains me that we've been touched by it.  But we are never without hope!  Cancer never has the last word!

Pray The Lord will make His home with all of these families and that until He returns, they will feel His presence, His Goodness and His Grace.  Pray they will see His Hand in the healing of their children and the little moments that show us His Comfort knows no bounds.  Pray for their hearts, their minds and their bodies - and as you look at ways to give, pray He will show you the best way to help them!
