I still believe in You

So, I was messing around on iTunes and one of my favorite artists, from a singing and songwriting perspective is Vince Gill. He has written some amazing songs and is also a Christian. He writes mostly secular songs and sometimes a song, secular or no, will just hit home so hard about my relationship with God. This is one of those songs. It's so true about my walk right now--

Everybody wants a little piece of my time
But still I put you at the end of the line
How it breaks my heart to cause you this pain
To see the tears you cry fallin like rain

Give me the chance to prove
And Ill make it up to you

I still believe in you
With a love that will always be
Standing so strong and true
Baby I still believe in you and me

Somewhere along the way, I guess I just lost track
Only thinkin of myself never lookin back
For all the times Ive hurt you, I apologize
Im sorry it took so long to finally realize

Give me the chance to prove
That nothings worth losing you

I still believe in you
With a love that will always be
Standing so strong and true
Baby I still believe in you and me

The beauty, to me, and what Christ seems to be saying to me, is that this song goes both ways. The chorus especially--I still believe in you, with a love that will always be. He is standing so strong and true and He always believe in me.

So, while I have not put the time into my study lately that I should, I still know He is there, and talk with Him often. This is a song written for a lover, but what better way to apply it than to The Lover of My Soul? His Word says 62 times that He is everlasting, He is the beginning and the end. He is faithful and kind.

Thank you Jesus for loving and believing in me even when I don't put the time in You deserve.
