TPT4KC This Week!

What a week it was last week! I'm glad it's over and the transition period begins. In some ways, it is just as hard to adjust to "normal" life, filled with "normal" things - like swim lessons, dance, school and regular routine vs. going to the clinic every week. You've just walked through a season most people never experience, so it is a little hard to wrap your brain around it.

And I'm not sure I'm there yet. I'm not sure I'm ready to embrace it with open arms - kind of like at first when you aren't ready to embrace the diagnosis and what your life will look like when your child starts treatment. I do hope and pray all stays clear - as so many of you do.

Sophia continues to think about her journey as well. Last night, as she said her prayers - after praying about how good her "pink fish" was last night (she loves steelhead trout!) and her family; she caught me off guard. She said:
"Dear Lord, please help all the children at Texas Children's finish their last chemo."

I'm going to expand that to include every child on this list, indeed all children, everywhere, with cancer. And with that thought in mind, our theme verse for today is Philippians 1:6:
...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Pray these families can stay the course, and that The Lord will use them to spread The Truth about where true healing, grace and love come from. Pray they will seek Him more and more. Pray they will be kept safe, protected and find comfort in His Everlasting Arms. Pray for the strength of their spirits and bodies. But above all, pray because....

PRAYER WORKS!

Completed Treatment - Pray for them to stay cancer and illness free!
Sophia Vogel (5, soft tissue sarcoma behind left eye) - has a cold, pray it stays minor!
Anna Grace Dennis (7, ependymoma) - still having headaches, pray for the cause to be found!
Rylee Beard (5, Will's tumors in bladder/abdomen) - pray for final scans to show she is remission and stays that way!
Courtney Pette (16, lymphoma)
Tristan Smit (3, ependymoma)

Currently In-Treatment
Holden Underwood (1, ALL/MLL) – Completed his last inpatient and is at home! Will begin his "maintenance" chemo at home with his family! Pray for his line to stay clear, germs to stay away and no pain!

Matthew (5, Rhabdomyosarcoma) – Completed his course of radiation, now to the last few rounds of chemo before he completes his treatment in October! Pray for success and illness free during this last round!

Aiden McSpadden (2, AML relapse) – Please pray his new line continues to work! He was starting to feel better before that line came out, so please pray this one "sticks" and they can continue treatment; the cancer will respond to the chemo and they will get to go home soon!

Brennan Scurlock (1, neuroblastoma) – Praise God he no longer needs a feeding tube! Continuing with his radiation, but feeling good right now! His family has several benefits going to help them pay for medical bills, so please check out his Facebook page (his name) to donate!

Grant McTaggart (5, P+ ALL) – The results from his spinal tap and bone marrow tests came back with good reports - Praise God! Pray, as he continues to receive chemo, that he is on the road to remission and stays healthy in school!

Addison Marshall (18, ALL) - continuing "maintenance" phase of chemo, at home and going to school. He is even playing football! As with all the kids in school, pray for no germs to be caught - but if they are, pray they stay minor!

Lincoln Daniel Jones (2, ALL) – Had a spinal injection and blood counts done on Monday - pray his cancer stays below 1% and that his treatment stays on track. Pray his body bounces back quickly and that he stays healthy!

Gabbie Howe (12, brain tumor - ependymoma) – Started radiation at St. Jude's last week - pray for full recovery from surgery and treatment!

Kaylea Stewart (Leukemia, 6) - completed her inpatient chemo and now is in "maintenance" mode. Please pray for her Mom who visited the ER last week with rectal bleeding. She received 5 pints of blood and her hemoglobin was way down. Pray for diagnosis and comfort, as this family is going through so much right now!

Mark (10, rhabdomyosarcoma in left hand) – Outpatient chemo this week, pray for adjustment of mind, body and spirit from all that is happening!

Ava Caggino (4, ATRT Brain Tumor)- Got blood counts yesterday - pray they bounced back quickly after her surgery and that she recovers fully and quickly!

Mark Ochoa (2, Wilm's Tumor) - finishing treatment soon! Pray he will hang on and beat cancer!

Ruel Bobet (20, stomach cancer) - continuing chemo at MDA, pray for success!

Kristina Barrett (9, sarcoma in lungs and arm) - Caught a stomach bug at school last week (her and all 3 of her siblings!) Pray the whole family will be healed and that school will go well this week. She just passed the 1 year mark after her diagnosis, which is a very emotional time for her family. Pray for comfort and success of this phase of her treatment!

Natalie Fraker (4, astrocytoma)

Hudson Kadlecek (4, lymphoma)

Patton Jones (3, Burkitt's Lymphoma)

Wyatt (2, ALL)

Prayers for all of these children, big and small! We are all God's children and are under His protection.
