I'm having a hard time with this list this morning. Maybe it's being so close to what Anna Grace and Jolynne went through yesterday. Maybe it's the fact that we have 3 new kids on the list and others are struggling. Maybe it's the lack of a good night's sleep for the past 2 nights.
Either way, it is a struggle to type these updates. I'm back in that place with each and every one of these sweet families. I wish I could hug all their Mommies and know for certain each one of them will be fine. We are a month out from Sophia's final results and I've been ok. But fear tagged along with me all day yesterday. This journey is so hard. While we've seem to transition back to normal life, the reality of the fight we are still in, is hitting me so hard. There is so much uncertainty. The stress these parents are under, the things their children must endure is excruciating. It is for any family going through cancer.
Sorry to be a downer this morning. :)
I keep thinking of that line in Francesca Battistelli's new song "Motion of Mercy":
Living for the Lost
Loving till it Hurts
No Matter what the cost
Like You loved me first.
The only thing I know how to do is pray and to love, even and especially when it hurts. I have to ask The Lord to remove fear from all these families hearts (including my own); to heal their children; to comfort them, especially when the situation is full of side-effects and issues. I also pray The Lord would just hurry up and come back so we don't have to endure this any more.
Come quick, Lord - we need You!
I know. I know. I know He is doing something about every single child on this list. I know His heart is just as heavy as mine. I know He hates cancer as much as all of us. So, I have to go back to the beginning. The verse I clung to when Sophia was diagnosed and is on the back of our Team Sophia shirts:
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
I want to see a harvest of healing. I want to see a harvest of peace. I want to see a harvest of hope. And it all starts with the seeds of prayer. Because....

Anna Grace Dennis (7, ependymoma) - Anna's MRI showed a small area that will need to be watched. Doctor says it is probably not disease but may be a result of radiation. They are encouraging her Mommy to find a pediatric neurologist and gastroenterologist for ongoing care. Please pray the area heals completely with no complications and that Anna will remain cancer free. Also pray The Lord will show them the exact right doctors He wants her with from here on out! <"Team Anna Grace" on FB>

Gunnar Peterson (5, Wilm’s Tumor) Diagnosed just over 10 days ago and last Friday, had one of his kidneys, a small piece of colon and an 11 cm tumor removed. He is recovering well, with his pain being managed by an epidural. He is already up and walking around the floor! His protocol will include chemo and radiation but how long/how much, will depend on what the tissue results look like. He will be going through a lot of what Rylee went through on her 2nd round of treatment. Pray for this family, they are receiving tremendous support but are from Louisiana, so this will be an out of town experience. They are still in shock, so pray they will cling to The Lord today and throughout this process! <”Gunnar’s Team on FB”>

Izzy Slot (3, angiosarcoma) She was diagnosed in August and received a new liver a few weeks ago. They are currently checking her levels for rejection. Pray this does not happen! They have chosen not to do chemo in order to protect her health (as well as there is no data stating that it would help) but to continue on anti-rejection course. She will receive scans monthly. She is on heavy doses of steroids and the family is still shell-shocked (as well as her older sister is having a hard time adjusting).
