TPT4KC This Week!

We are coming up on a year after Sophia's diagnosis.  It is hard to believe and imagine!  When I look back on this last year, there is still so much of me that wishes we didn't have to go through what we did.  Still there is another part of me that is glad for it because it taught us how to love more deeply, feel more intensely and grow so close as a family.  A very wise woman told me yesterday that it is possible that I will always feel the pain of this experience but that God uses it.

He uses it.

Nothing is every wasted in His Hands.  Nothing is ever forsaken.  Nothing is every missed.

I have no doubt that it makes Him just as sad to sit with me every Tuesday as I update this list.  He hates cancer as much as I do.  But there is still so much hope on this list.  You can't deny it when you read what goes on in the lives of these families on a weekly basis.  When you have the light, the darkness can never overtake it.  We have been in some dark corners but My Heavenly Father was always there to usher us back into the light.  The darkness never stayed around for very long.

You know as well as I do that these families, especially those with kids currently in the hospital, feel in the weeds.  It is much easier to be at home, doing relatively normal things, when you have cancer.  Being at the clinic/hospital is an intensely painful reminder of your reality.

But it is not forever.  I pray we will be able to pray over these kids as they grow.  As they go through school, to their first dance, as they graduate and go to college; as they answer the call to what God has for them.  Because in the end, this is not about cancer.  It is about life and being a part of the work God is doing to bring that life to its fullest.

I know, deep thoughts this morning, huh?  :)

As you pray, ask God to show you the picture He has for the future of these kids.  If He shows you something, please leave a comment - I'd love to share it with his/her parents.  And trust me, I will get the message to them!

Let's do what we do best - pray for them.  Because PRAYER WORKS!
