TPT4KC This Week!

If you want to know why Team Sophia exists, it is to spread the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ to those going through treatment.  It is to give people the comfort that Someone knows and sees their pain.  What these families go through, what we have been through, is H-A-R-D.  But I heard it said once that if something wasn't hard to do, it wasn't worth doing.  

I got the chance several times last week to minister directly to several caregivers in treatment.  I praise The Lord for the strength gave me to do it.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  People need to know they are not alone.  They need to know they are loved and they need to know there IS comfort in the midst of this suffering.

There is always hope.

Completed Treatment
Sophia Vogel (5, soft tissue sarcoma behind left eye) – Praise The Lord for perfect eyes!  <"Team Sophia" on FB>

Anna Grace Dennis (7, ependymoma) – Her headaches, which were occurring every day for several months have almost completely gone away! Her abdominal pain is lessening as well but bothering her today.  Pray that the "area of concern" on her brain is healing completely and the next round of scans in January will be clean and clear, with no evidence of disease!  <"Team Anna Grace" on FB>

Rylee Beard (5, Will's tumors in bladder/abdomen) – Praise The Lord for clear scans!! 

Matthew Lucas (5, Rhabdomyosarcoma) – Pray for a great surgery, when it is scheduled.  Pray it is and that he stays cancer free, as well as pray for the surgical team to get it all with steady hands!<"Team Matthew" on FB>

Gabbie Howe (12, ependymoma) – Home from completing her treatment and doing well!  She will receive MRI’s every 3 months, with the next one in January!  PTL!

Tristan Smit (3, ependymoma) – Last MRI showed one tumor is smaller, so no growth, which is great news!  Pray the tumor is shrinking because it is dead and being reabsorbed.  He is enjoying school and sports at home in South Africa!

Fighting Illness and/or Inpatient

Izzy Slot (3, angiosarcoma)  Had a biopsy of her liver done and 500ml of fluid drained from her lungs Friday.  She did great! Braden Estes (17, Ewings Sarcoma) Currently in ICU with sepsis at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and underwent surgery for an inflamed colon, which they will reattached at a later date.  Please pray for The Lord’s continued Hand of Mercy to keep him alive, that the infection will clear and he will get out of the woods!  <http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/braedenestes>

Daniela Owens (9, Ewing Sarcoma) – Broke her finger and is sick with bronchitis – pray for healing!  <”Prayer for Daniela” of FB>

Madison (3, ALL) – She was diagnosed in March 2010 and will complete her treatment in May 2012.  She is currently in the hospital with a bacterial infection, pray the antibiotics take care of it and she will be back at home soon!  <”Prayers for Madion” on FB>

Aiden McSpadden (2, AML relapse) – On day 13 of BMT and doing great!  Pray for the strength of his Mom, who is there 24x7 because his Dad has a virus.  Pray to he will remain illness free and the next tests will show he is cancer-free! <"Angels for Aiden" on FB>

Charlie Harris Beard (1, Leukemia) Still in isolation from his BMT 2 weeks ago.  Pray he recovers quickly and gets to go home, cancer free, soon! <”Help save Baby Charlie Harries Beard” on FB>

Callie Cheer (2, AML) – Received her last round of chemo last Monday, will remain inpatient until her counts recover and it is safe for her to go home.  Pray for healing and to be cancer free!  <”Cure for Callie” on FB.>

Ruel Bobet (20, stomach cancer) – Undergoing more aggressive chemo and still dealing with liver pain from the lesions.  Doing systemic chemo for 6 weeks (4 weeks to go) and then targeted treatment.  Pray for minimal side effects and to stay illness free!

Receiving Treatment this week

Holden Underwood (1, ALL/MLL) – Officially in Continuation II!  That means everything is progressing as it should and The Lord is healing him of his cancer!  Spinal chemo and port access this week on Wednesday.  Pray for good numbers and to remain illness free!  <"Holden's Hope" on FB>

Brennan Scurlock (1, neuroblastoma) – Thursday is his last radiation treatment.  Pray it is success and he recovers quickly – as well as his next scans show no growth or no tumor!  <"Brennan Scurlock" on FB>

Lincoln Daniel Jones (3, ALL) – Weren’t admitted yesterday for 2^nd round of inpatient chemo (of 4), pray that will get on board soon and that his side effects will be minimal!   <"Pray for Lincoln Daniel Jones" and "Red Carpet Kids for a Cure" on FB>

Gunnar Peterson (5, Wilm’s Tumor) Doing well with his treatment, although chemo and radiation have built up in his system.  Pray for no to minimal side effects, their travel back and forth from home to TCH and for quick attention from the nursing staff so they don’t have to stay all day at the clinic this week! <”Gunnar’s Team on FB”>

Kory Crowell (12, Tumor on Adrenal gland) Recovering from a busy weekend, pray his strength returns in full. His family is researching alternative treatments, so please pray the Lord reveals His wisdom and direction for them!  <”lil_dude on carepages.com”>

Ava Caggino (4, ATRT Brain Tumor) This is her last week of radiation – pray for no side effects, now or following the completion.  Pray for her remaining chemo rounds to go smoothly with no fevers and that the treatment destroys the cancer and she gets her vision back!  <"The Ava Caggino Fight Aganist Cancer Page" on FB>

Katie Wagner (15, Rhabdomyosarcoma) Diagnosed on October 7^th, she is in the beginning phases of her treatment.  Pray for strength, encouragement, strong faith and endurance for this sweet family of faith!  Also, praise The Lord for BC/BS providing them insurance, and for financial support to cover their significant monthly payment.  <”Wagner Family support” on FB>

Hunter (1, Ewing Sarcoma) – All his scans came back clear, PTL!  Starting his radiation soon, pray all goes well, no side effects and he will be cured! <”Cure Baby Hunter” on FB>

Lance McClain (ALL) – Received chemo at TCH yesterday, as well as a spinal tap.  Pray for excellent results!  Also, pray for his sister Sophie who had a biopsy and will have a lymph node removed in a few weeks – pray for clear results on that!  <”TeamLance McClain” on FB>

Lucy Weber (4, ALL) – Pray for no issues with her clinic visit this week and continued success in fighting cancer!   <"Team Lucy" on FB>

Logan Sinclair (5, Anaplastic Medulloblastoma) – Sister had a virus this weekend, pray he was not infected so he can continue his chemo, scheduled to start on Thursday!  <”Pray for Logan Sinclair” on FB>

Zayley Oliver –She in 5^th round of chemo and after the 7^th, she will undergo surgery to remove the tumor on her liver.  Pray she stays healthy and that cancer is beaten back! <”Prayers for Zayley Jade Oliver” on FB>

Addison Marshall (18, ALL) – continues outpatient, maintenance chemo  <addiecake on Twitter>

On-break or has Scans this week

Thomas Valerio (11, rhabdomyosarcoma in left hand) Completed radiation and 14 weeks of chemo.  His hand has healed from radiation, PTL!  Tumor has flattened out and disappeared, so it is responding to the treatment!  His scans are this week, to see where it officially stands and he will continue in treatment from there.

Maddie Briscoe (7, neuroblastoma) –Her last round of chemo will be in 2 weeks – pray for completion success as well as that tumors will not return! <”Pray for Maddie Briscoe” on FB>

Kristina Barrett (9, sarcoma in lungs and arm) – Had a great time on Make-a-Wish trip, being the voice of a pea in the next VeggieTales movie!  Pray for swift recovery from exhaustion and clarity on alternative treatments!  <"Praying for Kristina" on FB>
