TPT4KC This Week!

On Friday night, I went to KSBJ's Girls Night Out.  Lysa Terkheurst was one of the speakers and she told a story about how Matthew 5:8 (Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God) applies to her life.  It struck me that I need to see more of God in my life.  I spend a lot of time praying for what I need but not enough time looking to see how He is working in those situations.  Since then I have been praying for my eyes to be opened.

In reading my devotional for today, it struck me what I needed to be on the look out for, specifically.  I'm calling them the 3 P's: Provision; Preparation and Pointing Out.

You see, I needed to realize that even before I opened my eyes this morning, God has already provided everything I need to be significant and successful in His eyes today.  He has already prepared the way I will walk today - going before me and covering me from behind.  My job is to be ready to point out (to myself and others) when I see what He has done.  His work is complete, mine is ongoing.  It is a revolutionary thought that has taken years to formulate.  And it came to fruition in one moment on an ordinary last day of January in the year 2012.  I guess the point is that I never know where or when He will reveal Himself - but He will and I need to be looking for it!

In the same way, as the writer of my devotional lays out, pray these families will have the confidence to see that God will:
1. Remove them from their circumstances, or
2. Deepen their understanding of their circumstances, or
3. Give them wisdom to meet their circumstances, or
4. Give them the grace to live within those circumstances.

All of these things may happen at once or seperately.  Each answer is different, depending on the day - but God does have the answer we need for that day.  We must be confident in our faith to approach Him for it.  We must rely on His provision alone, knowing He has prepared whatever comes to us and in faith, declare His great works.

I want to pray Hebrews 4:16 for our families today:

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Go forth in the confidence of your faith in the Risen One.  Pray these families will find the peace from knowing they are securely in the Hands of their Maker, that He has a plan and a future for them and their children.  I can't think of a better way to see Him work than through the lives of these kids!!!

God is good, all the time - so let's pray to Him on their behalf.  Why?

BECAUSE PRAYER WORKS!
